Pinkerton's Barbecue sits at 107 West Houston Street, right in the center of downtown San Antonio. Since opening in 2021, the downtown smokehouse has brought Central Texas-style barbecue to the River Walk district, a short walk from the Alamo, the Majestic Theatre, and the hotels and offices that line the Houston Street corridor. Whether you are visiting for the weekend or working downtown, it is an easy stop for a real Texas barbecue lunch or dinner.

What we are known for

Everything is smoked low and slow over post oak and mesquite. Our Copper Creek prime brisket is the anchor, sliced or chopped, alongside beef ribs, glazed and dry rub pork ribs, chopped pork shoulder, turkey, BBQ chicken thighs, and a full sausage lineup including jalapeno, jalapeno cheese, and boudin links. Pair it with sides like rosemary bacon mac and cheese, South Texas beans, Grant's potato salad, tangy coleslaw, jalapeno cheese rice, and duck and sausage jambalaya, then finish with bread pudding, Aunt Ruby's blueberry cobbler, or bananas foster pudding. Our house sauces, from the Original to the Gold and Sweet, are built to match the meat, not cover it. The San Antonio location has earned a spot on Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ Joints list.

Parking and getting here

The restaurant is walkable from most downtown hotels and the River Walk, and we offer validated parking at two nearby lots. Bring your ticket inside and we will take care of the validation. Coming from out of town, downtown San Antonio is easy to reach from I-35, I-10, and US-281.
