Pinkerton's competition pit running smoke
Competition BBQ

Forged on the Circuit

COME AND EAT IT® started as a competition team, not a label. Before any rub or sauce hit a shelf, it earned its keep against the best cooks in the country. This is where it gets proven.

The Team

The Name Started on the Circuit

Come and Eat It is the competition team behind Pinkerton's. Grant Pinkerton built his reputation the hard way, hauling pits to contests across the country and turning in box after box against cooks who had been doing it for decades.

The wins came. So did the name. Every sauce and rub that carries it was dialed in for competition first, then handed to you exactly as it left the pit.

How Competition BBQ Works

Competition barbecue is not a backyard cookout with a ribbon. It is a sanctioned sport with rules, judges, and a circuit. Here is how it runs.

The Rulebook

Sanctioning Bodies

Groups like the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the Memphis Barbecue Network, and the Texas circuits write the rules, set the categories, and certify the judges. Win under their banner and it counts everywhere.

The Meats

The Categories

Most contests come down to four: chicken, pork ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket. Each one turned in at an exact time, in an unmarked box, cooked to spec.

The Scorecard

The Judging

Judges never see the team. They score each box blind on three things: how it looks, how it tastes, and how it bites. Take all four categories and you win Grand Champion.

The Circuit

The Stages That Matter

Hundreds of contests run every year. A handful can make a career.

From the Pit

On the Circuit

Long nights, hot fires, and the work that goes in before a single box gets turned in.

Cook With What Wins

The same rubs and sauces we run on the circuit are on the shelf. Boss Hog Competition Pork, Grand Champion Beef, and the sauces that earned the hardware.
